Abuse of Privilege: Texas Female Constable Sexual Harasser; Gun Control California Congressman Busted Trafficking Guns; Delaware Judge Gives Millionaire Child Rapist Probation

'CHUNKY' TEXAS CONSTABLE MADE DEPUTY 'MOTORBOAT' HER BOSOM
From Breitbart.com

A former Texas deputy constable will receive $567,000 after a jury found he was sexually harassed by his female superior. Galveston County Constable Pam Matranga was accused by her ex-employee, James Gist, of committing various sexually suggestive actions and making numerous inappropriate comments during her time as his boss, according to the Daily Mail.

CA STATE SEN. LELAND YEE INDICTED FOR ARMS TRAFFICKING AFTER SUPPORTING ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN
On March 26th gun control proponent and California state senator Leland Yee (D) was indicted on charges of arms trafficking and public corruption.
According to The LA Times, the indictment alleges Yee and "former school board president Keith Jackson... were involved in a scheme to traffic firearms in exchange for thousands in campaign donations to [Yee]."
The Associated Press reports that Yee was to receive campaign donations in exchange for various favors, including acquiring arms from a Muslim rebel group. The people with whom the deals were made turned out to be undercover FBI agents.
According to the Associated Press:
Yee discussed helping the agent get weapons worth $500,000 to $2.5 million, including shoulder fired automatic weapons and missiles, and took him through the entire process of acquiring them from a Muslim separatist group in the Philippines to bringing them to the United States, according to the affidavit by FBI Special Agent Emmanuel V. Pascua.
One of Yee's big financial backers is an Asian gangster who goes by "Shrimp-Boy."

This next one should probably be at the top of today's post, after all, it's called Judges and Lawyers Hall of Shame. I wonder if the millionare put a little of his fortune in a Swiss bank account for the Hon. Jan Jurden

Trust Fund Millionare Convicted Of Raping Infant Child Dodges Jail Because He 'Will Not Fare Well' Says Delaware Judge Jan Jurden

A Superior Court judge who sentenced a wealthy du Pont heir to probation for raping his 3-year-old daughter noted in her order that he "will not fare well" in prison and needed treatment instead of time behind bars, court records show.

Judge Jan Jurden's sentencing order for Robert H. Richards IV suggested that she considered unique circumstances when deciding his punishment for fourth-degree rape. Her observation that prison life would adversely affect Richards was a rare and puzzling rationale, several criminal justice authorities in Delaware said. Some also said her view that treatment was a better idea than prison is a justification typically used when sentencing drug addicts, not child rapists.

DALLAS SOCIALITE/LAWYER'S WIFE SENTENCED FOR TRADING CHILD PORN
43-year-old Erika Susan Perdue, a wealthy socialite grandmother of Dallas, will spend 14 years in federal prison for running a child porn operation, according to court records obtained by Breitbart Texas. She was sentenced on Monday after pleading guilty to one count of transporting and shipping child pornography. According to court records, the 43-year-old lived in a $1.4 million mansion with her attorney husband. During the work day, Perdue would trade porn and take drugs. Her online name, used for porn trading, was "Classybitch," in person-to-person networks as stated in the sworn complaint. Her vanity license plate was "Syn." She spent her days popping amphetamines and trading child porn onlone.

In late 2009, she married Mark Perdue, an intellectual property lawyer.

S.A. woman stole from lawyer in courtroom heist
BOERNE — A plea agreement Wednesday resulted in Laura Salazar, 36, of San Antonio sentenced to time already served — 26 days in jail — for swiping $120 from her lawyer at a court hearing here Feb. 21.

Salazar's court-appointed attorney in a child custody case, Patricia DeVeau, reported the theft to a sheriff's deputy, who said Salazar admitted the theft when confronted, pulling six $20 bills from her underwear, according to court documents.

Another Pervert: Fired Texas officer gets 15 years for child porn
DEL RIO, Texas (AP) — A former South Texas police officer has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for dealing in child pornography.

A federal judge in Del Rio sentenced 36-year-old Jason Lee Villasana (vee-uh-SAH'-nuh), who was fired by the Sabinal (SAB'-uh-nahl) Police Department after his late 2012 arrest.

Hawaii law lets police have sex with prostitutes
HONOLULU (AP) — Honolulu police officers have urged lawmakers to keep an exemption in state law that allows undercover officers to have sex with prostitutes during investigations, touching off a heated debate.

Authorities say they need the legal protection to catch lawbreakers in the act. Critics, including human trafficking experts and other police, say it's unnecessary and could further victimize sex workers, many of whom have been forced into the trade.

7 men fatally shot in Mexico near Arizona border
HERMOSILLO, Mexico (AP) — Seven men were shot to death in an apparent ambush by rival drug traffickers near the Mexico-Arizona border, authorities said Thursday.

An eighth man was found wounded on a hill in an area called Ejido Los Ejemplos near Sonoyta, Mexico, Sonora state police said in a statement. Sonoyta is close to the U.S. border crossing at Lukeville, Arizona.

Top General: We Only Catch 20% of Drugs Coming in From South America
General John F. Kelly, the head of the U.S. Southern Command, testified last week before the Senate Armed Services Committee, where he argued, as generals tend to do, that he has inadequate resources to fulfill the missions assigned to him.
Here's how the Associated Press summed up his statement:
The U.S. doesn’t have the ships and surveillance capabilities to go after the illegal drugs flowing into the U.S. from Latin America, the top military commander for the region told senators Thursday, adding that the lack of resources means he has to “sit and watch it go by.”
Gen. John Kelly told the Senate Armed Services Committee that he is able to get about 20 percent of the drugs leaving Colombia for the U.S., but the rest gets through.
Think about that.
Though the U.S. spends billions of dollars each year fighting the War on Drugs, and despite having done so for many years, 80 percent of the drugs from one of the countries we've focused on the most still gets through all of our interdiction efforts.

FBI Investigation at Bexar Co. Courthouse; San Antonio's First Same Sex Divorce; Child Organ Harvesting in Mexico; More Nigerian Scams

San Antonio lawyer bribed Bexar judge
SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio lawyer pleaded guilty Monday to bribing a state district judge, admitting that he gave the jurist cash, paid for repairs on his personal vehicles and even selling one of his Mercedes for him, all in exchange for favorable rulings on cases.

Newly unsealed documents in the case of Alberto “Al” Acevedo Jr., 60, say he bribed then-144th District Judge Angus McGinty.
“The things of value included cash, car repairs, the sale of a vehicle belonging to Judge McGinty, the registration of a vehicle purchased by Judge McGinty, fuel, and a car wash,” Acevedo's plea deal states. “In exchange for these bribes, Judge McGinty provided favorable judicial rulings which benefited me and my clients. Judge McGinty provided these favorable judicial rulings as requested, and as opportunities arose. These favorable rulings included leniency at sentencing and less restrictive conditions of release."
This judge fixed cases for a car wash?!

Same-sex divorce filed in Bexar County
SAN ANTONIO — As Texas' ban on gay marriage is being reviewed by state and federal courts, a lesbian couple filed what is likely the first same-sex divorce in Bexar County last month.

As the Express-News' Patrick Danner reported, the case involves two women, Allison Leona Flood Lesh and Kristi Lyn Lesh, who were married in 2010 in Washington and have a child.
This is a good example why lawyers should support gay marriage. It will increase the number of divorce cases, so some of these newly licensed lawyers can have some work to do.

Child Organ Harvesting And Trafficking-Linked Arrest Made In Mexico

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Police in Mexico's western state of Michoacan detained an alleged member of the Knights Templar cartel who is suspected of kidnapping children to harvest their organs, an official said Monday.

Michoacan state Public Safety Secretary Carlos Castellanos Becerra alleged that Manuel Plancarte Gaspar was part of the cartel's organ-trafficking ring. The ring would kidnap children and take them to rented homes with medical equipment where their organs were removed, Castellanos Becerra charged.

"We have several statements in open investigations that point to a network of several suspects who would identify people with certain characteristics, especially children, and kidnap them," he said.

Deliverance and Cougar Killing; Nigerian Lawyer Scams

Deliverance
The recent story about a young girl who shot a cougar caught my attention, and I remember thinking, why would anyone shoot a mountain lion (or bear or wolf or bobcat) that was minding its own business. Now more of the truth is coming out. She comes from a family of redneck poachers.
The pint-size slayer comes from a clan of convicted poachers that slaughtered a pair of endangered gray wolves and tried to smuggle their skins across the U.S. border a few years ago. The revelation, absent in the mainstream media accounts of the Shelby’s cougar killing, recasts the tale of the adorable deadeye and has caused the history of her kin to resurface.

“The Whites are known sons of bitches,” says Mitch Friedman, executive director of Conservation Northwest, which has championed wolf recovery in the region. “I don’t think anyone is the least bit surprised that they remain in the news.”

Every lawyer probably gets about 10 of these emails a day. I love the names they come up with:

SWSX Tragedy, Galveston Cops

Driver charged with capital murder in SXSW rampage
From SA Express
Rashad Charjuan Owens (how do they come up with these names?) is the thug who stole a car in Austin, fled from the police, and plowed into a crowd outside a nightclub in Austin last week. He killed two, and critically injured over 20 others, some critically.
Rashad, 21, is the proud father of six illegitimate children. Gee, I wonder how he supports them all?
One of his friends say we shouldn't be too hard on him. "This was bound to happen," Lindsey told a reporter. "Running from the (law) ... As a white dude, you can't understand, man."

Judge cites Galveston police culture of force
GALVESTON — Police stormed into a wedding party at a seaside hotel in 2008, punching and striking guests with nightsticks, shooting pepper spray and firing stun guns.
More than five years later, as a lawsuit stemming from that episode is about to come to trial, a legal finding by the federal judge hearing the case suggests that Galveston’s police department has a deeply entrenched history of excessive force. And the department is facing new allegations of misconduct stemming from an incident during the recent Mardi Gras celebration.
Police had a history of use-of-force complaints before 34 officers swarmed into the wedding party in October 2008, according to a March 5 memorandum by U.S. District Judge Keith Ellison explaining his decision to allow the case to proceed to trial. The event became known as the “H20 case,” a reference to the name of the hotel bar where it occurred.
The department was “plagued with activities that oftentimes were illegal, most of the time unethical,” Ellison quoted former Police Chief Charles Wiley as saying. “Use of force was a ‘big issue’ within the department itself.”

MISSION — An immigrant woman, her daughter and another girl who said they were kidnapped and assaulted by a Border Patrol agent were in the process of surrendering to the agent when their ordeal began, another Border Patrol agent and a federal law enforcement official said Friday.
Agent Esteban Manzanares, who officials say committed suicide Thursday morning, is accused of driving the three away from the river after they surrendered and assaulting them. The other agent said Manzanares cut the wrists of the adult woman, assaulted one teenager in the group, and then fled the area with a second teenage girl.

Here's one I don't understand. Why is our government giving up control of the internet? After what happened with the Malaysian airplane this week, why would any sane person do anything to give foreign governments and terrorists more opportunities to attack us?

U.S. to relinquish remaining control over the Internet

U.S. officials announced plans Friday to relinquish federal government control over the administration of the Internet, a move that pleased international critics but alarmed some business leaders and others who rely on the smooth functioning of the Web.

Pressure to let go of the final vestiges of U.S. authority over the system of Web addresses and domain names that organize the Internet has been building for more than a decade and was supercharged by the backlash last year to revelations about National Security Agency surveillance.
But former House speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) tweeted: “What is the global internet community that Obama wants to turn the internet over to? This risks foreign dictatorships defining the interne

El Paso Prosecutor Indicted for Corruption; Houston Dad Shoots Daughter's Boyfriend; Neo-Nazis in Kerrville? Ignorant Sheila Jackson Lee Think Pilgrims Wrote Constitution

TEXAS BORDER: PROSECUTOR CHARGED FOR ALLEGED CORRUPTION
TEXAS--Antonio “Tony” Reyes faces charges for conspiracy to accept cash in exchange for the dismissal of criminal charges in cases where he was working as an assistant district attorney in El Paso.  According to an article in the El Paso Times, Reyes is expected to plead guilty next week in federal court.
The Times article states that federal court records show Reyes should plead guilty on Monday, March 17 before federal U.S. Magistrate Robert Castañeda. The investigation began in early 2012 and Reyes was arrested in November, 2013.

Dad accused of killing teen found in daughter's room
From Houston Chronicle
This is a tragic story for everyone involved. The details are sketchy, but it looks like a teenage girl had her boyfriend sneak into the house in the middle of the night, they were in her bedroom, her father heard something, thought the boyfriend was an intruder, and shot him dead. The girl may have lied that she didn't know him.

Neo-Nazis in Kerrville?
Thanks to the reader who suggested a local hate group merits investigation, The White Network, headed by Kerville resident Carolyn Yeager Kahant. The Anti-defamation League (ADL) has an entry on her that starts:
Carolyn Yeager: Neo-Nazi and Holocaust Denial Activist
Carolyn Yeager is a Texas-based neo-Nazi and Holocaust denier who runs her own Web site and claims to be the leader of The White Network. The site is filled with racist and anti-Semitic material, as well as essays promoting motherhood and home-schooling.
Now I don't know if there is a real organization called the White Network, or if it is just a name and a blog. She has a radio show, described in this blurb: "The Heretics’ Hour is a two-hour program currently broadcasting every Monday at 9 p.m. Eastern time (6 p.m. Pacific).  Carolyn deals with controversial subject matter:  World War II real history, Holocaust revisionism, race and free speech issues, the attack on White culture, Jews and the power they wield in white societies."
She translated a book, Ein Anderer Hitler (Another Hitler) from German to English. She also devotes part of her radio show to reading from and discussing "Hitler's Table Talk."

Sheila Jackson Lee thinks the Constitution is 400 years old
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas proclaimed this week that the Constitution is 400 years old. In other words, its writing would predate the Pilgrims. San Antonio lawyer pleads guilty, facing 10 years behind bars
From SA Express: As jury selection was underway Tuesday in the trial of embattled defense attorney Hilda Valadez, she took a plea agreement.

Valadez, 52, formerly known for garnering more indigent defense work than any attorney in the county, pleaded guilty to one count each of forgery and “securing execution of a document by deception.”

Valadez previously was indicted on 46 felony counts related to allegations she forged judges' signatures and double-billed the county for her services.

After nearly 30 years on death row, Glenn Ford is exonerated — and free
From Washington Post
“My sons, when I left, was babies,” Louisiana’s longest-serving death row inmate told reporters after his release late Tuesday. “Now they’re grown men with babies.”
Standing outside in a denim shirt and dark-rimmed glasses, 64-year-old Glenn Ford said he feels resentment when remembering the nearly 30 years he served on Louisiana’s death row for a crime he didn’t commit. In fact, prosecutors now say he wasn’t even at the scene of the murder and did not participate in it.
But now, he’s a free man.
A judge ordered Ford’s release from the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola, where he had been held since March 1985.

Phillip Marlowe on Small Town Corruption; Bar Investigates Former Burleson Co. DA; Juarez Cartel Trial

"Whatever I might say would be my word against the law, and the law in this town seems pretty rotten."
"It's a nice town," she said sharply, a little breathlessly. "You can't judge --"
"Okey, it's a nice town. So is Chicago. You could live there a long time and not see a Tommygun. Sure, it's a nice town. But you can only buy a piece of a big city. You can buy a town this size all complete, with the original box and tissue paper. That's the difference. And that makes me want out."
Phillip Marlow, in Farewell My Lovely, by Raymond Chandler.

State Bar Opens Investigation Into Prosecutor
The State Bar of Texas has opened an investigation into Charles Sebesta, the former Burleson County District Attorney who prosecuted death row exoneree Anthony Graves. Graves spent 18 years behind bars — 12 of them on death row, where he twice neared execution — before the U.S. 5th Circuit of Appeals overturned his conviction in 2006, ruling that Sebesta had used false testimony and withheld favorable evidence in the case.

The Juarez Cartel Goes on Trial in El Paso

The widely published findings of an investigation by the Mexican daily newspaper El Universal showed that agents from the DEA, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office coordinated with top leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel to inflict damage on rivals like the Juarez Cartel.

Judge says prosecutors should follow the law. Prosecutors revolt.

From Washington Post. The fact that misbehaving prosecutors are rarely sanctioned or disciplined. Recently (or perhaps the better word is finally), some judges have begun to speak out about the problem including, most notably, Alex Kozinski, the influential judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
Late last year, South Carolina State Supreme Court Justice Donald Beatty joined Kozinski. At a state solicitors’ convention in Myrtle Beach, Beatty cautioned that prosecutors in the state have been “getting away with too much for too long.” He added, “The court will no longer overlook unethical conduct, such as witness tampering, selective and retaliatory prosecutions, perjury and suppression of evidence. You better follow the rules or we are coming after you and will make an example. The pendulum has been swinging in the wrong direction for too long and now it’s going in the other direction. Your bar licenses will be in jeopardy. We will take your license.”

Reputed Deputy For 'El Chapo' Drug Kingpin Will Go To Trial In Chicago

From Huffington Post CHICAGO (AP) — A reputed lieutenant of recently captured drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman abruptly reversed his plans to plead guilty Friday to federal trafficking charges, a move made out of fear for the lives of his wife and children in Mexico, according to his attorney.
Alfredo Vasquez Hernandez, who has been in U.S. custody since 2012, had been scheduled to change his plea to guilty in federal court in Chicago. But his attorney, Paul Brayman, told a judge that Hernandez decided to go to trial as originally planned after a Chicago television news report that Brayman says fed rumors in Mexico that his client "had turned against Guzman."

EXCLUSIVE--Tammy Bruce: War on Boys Attempt to 'Create Society of Frightened People'

From  Breitbart: There is a culture through the left that wants to emasculate the nation as a whole. It's through the military, of course, you see Obama trying to do that, as well. We see it through what's happening in education. Political correctness itself was meant to end the notion that we could have direct conversations, that we could be ambitious, that we could be our own people. Men are seen, of course, by the feminist movement and by the left who are led by the same individuals as those with the feminist-movement mentality. And they see the best way to emasculate the nation--certainly to cut it off at its knees--is to start with the children. And the biggest threat there are little boys.
If you can change the mentality of little boys, train them from an early age to not be who they are--and that's, of course, what the left's general attitude is for everyone in this country... Ironically, I think the most difficult people to train in that way are little boys.

Bexar County Judicial Corruption; Deputy US Marshal Busted in San Antonio; Army Sex Assault Prosecutor Suspended

Lawyer to plead guilty to bribery in Bexar County corruption case
from San Antonio Express News
SAN ANTONIO — A lawyer at the center of a federal investigation into corruption at the Bexar County Courthouse and beyond has been charged with bribery, and plans to plead guilty to the charge, the San Antonio Express-News has confirmed as part of its own probe into the case. As the state's attention was on the primaries this week, federal authorities quietly filed documents here charging defense attorney Al Acevedo Jr. with bribing then-144th District Judge Angus McGinty, who resigned Feb. 14 amid allegations that he manipulated cases to benefit clients of Acevedo in exchange for repair work on McGinty's personal vehicles.

Federal agent arrested in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO — A deputy U.S. marshal in San Antonio has been arrested over allegations that he forged a doctor's signature, committed insurance fraud and lied about it to the FBI.

Reynaldo Gonzalez, 37, has been indicted on 13 counts, including wire fraud, aggravated identity theft and making false statements, said U.S. Attorney Kenneth Magidson, the top federal prosecutor for the Houston-based Southern District of Texas.

Men sought in attempted Alamo Heights kidnapping
From SA-Express
Crime Stoppers and the Alamo Heights Police Department are looking for two men who they said tried to kidnap a woman, 26, last month as she walked her dog.

The woman was walking the dog about 9 p.m. Feb. 5 in the 300 block of Kampmann Avenue when two Hispanic men approached in a dark pickup, according to Crime Stoppers. The passenger got out and grabbed the woman from behind, trying to force her into the pickup.

The woman kicked and screamed until the thug let her go, but it could have gone the other way.

This is a good example of why I advocate women becoming proficient in handling firearms and getting their CHL.
