San Antonio Lawyer Off to Prison, Kerrville Pervert Convicted Molesting Granddaugther

Lawyer sent to prison for Bexar billing scheme
San Antonio Express
SAN ANTONIO — Former defense attorney Hilda Valadez, who pleaded guilty to charges of forging judges' signatures and double billing the county for indigent defense work, was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison.

The sentence, by Visiting Judge Stephen Ables, came with the caveat that he would retain jurisdiction of the case for 180 days. That means he can determine at any time during the next six months to commute her sentence to probation.

Kerrville - 73 year old pervert off to the Big House for 30 years for molesting granddaughter

Here's the KDT summary:
"A 73-year-old Comfort man accused of touching his elementary school-age granddaughter in a sexual manner numerous times over a three-year period may spend the rest of his life in prison.
The man, who has not been identified to protect his 9-year-old victim, was sentenced to 30 years in prison by a Kerr County jury Monday morning. After the jury deliberated for about an hour and handed down the verdict, friends and relatives of the defendant took the stand asking jurors to assess the minimum sentence allowable under the law — 25 years in prison without parole."
I'll tell you the perv's name: David George Pfeifer.  Here's his mugshot:

The victim was actually only 3 or 4 when it started. And it involved a lot more than the defendant "touching" her - taking showers, sleeping naked in bed with her, forcing her to masturbate him, etc.
I watched a good bit of the trial last week and after I saw the defendant's wife testify I was convinced he was guilty as sin. When the sheriff's department detective told her that her husband was being investigated for molesting her granddaugther, her response was "That's not true - he's getting plenty at home." And she was trying to help him! She reminded me of Phyllis Diller, with teased, bleach blond hair and white plastic framed glasses as big as the windshield on a Harley.
After the guilty verdict, some of his supporters were sitting outside the courtroom praying - for him! His preacher sat through the trial to show his support.
During the trial a few years ago over the custody of Matt Baker's daughters (Baker is in prison for life after being convicted of murdering his wife in Hewlitt, outside Waco) it came out that, years ago, a preacher from one of the big churches was cruising and trying to pick up little boys. That one got covered up. I won't get into my theories about the link between fundamentalist religion and child molesters (and let's don't forget the good old Catholic church).

US Marshal Kills Defendant
A U.S. Marshal shot and killed defendant in a federal courthouse in Salt Lake City on Monday. Siale Angilau, an alleged member of the Tongan Crips gang, was on trial accused of shooting two deputy U.S. marshals in August 2007. Angilau was killed by the Marshal after he ran toward a witness in a “aggressive, threatening manner” armed with a pen or pencil, said the FBI's assistant special agent in charge. A witness in the courtroom said the Marshal fired eight times and fired again after the defendant had fallen.

How Chicago Became ‘Chiraq
This Easter weekend, 45 people were shot in the city that’s come to be known as ‘Chiraq.’ And until Obama can get the guns off the streets of his hometown, the bloodshed won’t stop.

South Texas Corruption; San Antonio Dope Heads

Former Hidalgo County sheriff pleads guilty to money laundering

From S.A. Express  McALLEN — Former Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño pleaded guilty Monday to a federal charge related to money laundering, a little more than two weeks since abruptly resigning and just days after a former aide pleaded guilty to one count of misprison of a felony, federal prosecutors said.
Treviño, who resigned March 28 after nine years as the county's top law enforcement officer, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering involving a campaign contribution from suspected drug trafficker Tomas “El Gallo” Gonzalez. The charge carries a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.

From SA Express
Here's three good reasons I'm a member of the NRA:
SAN ANTONIO — Officers from several jurisdictions arrested seven people Wednesday accused of involvement in an organized property crimes ring to support their alleged methamphetamine habits.

Police said they have recovered $500,000 worth of stolen property, including electronics, guns, drugs, a boat and mail that was used to open false accounts. Most of it was seized from a trailer park in the 16200 block of U.S. 281 North.

“They were waking up in the morning, and to support their drug habit they were burglarizing and stealing as much as they could, as often as they could,” said San Antonio police Chief William McManus. “We expect that this will put a big dent in the property crime numbers here in San Antonio and in the surrounding counties.”

How would you like to come home and surprise these thugs in your house?

CHICAGO (AP) — Federal court documents show that an associate of Sinaloa cartel leader Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman was arrested in Las Vegas in January and brought to Chicago.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports Wednesday (http://bit.ly/1hLWAvX ) that Edgar Manuel Valencia Ortega pleaded not guilty last week in a closed hearing before U.S. District Judge Ruben Castillo in Chicago. Prosecutors accused him of coordinating the delivery of large shipments of cocaine from Mexico to the U.S. He's also accused of collecting and laundering drug money.

Breach of Contract or Some Bulls--- Case Backfires on Two Who Sued Their 97 Year Old Uncle in Kerrville; Big Boy Preacher John Hagee Predicts End of World - Again

Kerrville: Jury Slams Ingrate Nephew and Niece Who Sued 97 year old uncle
A Kerrville jury returned a verdict last week in favor of a 97 year old man whose nephew and niece sued him for cutting him out of his will, or some such theory. I didn't know you could do that, since I thought a person has the right to change his will any time he wants to. Maybe it was for cutting them out of some other benefit. Anyway, the jury not only ruled the defendant didn't do anything wrong, they found the nephew and niece did the old gentleman wrong when they refused to release about $7,500 in a bank account that belonged to their uncle. On top of that, the jury held they acted with malice and ordered them to pay $45,000 in punitive damages. The case is Russell E. Williams and Judy W. Williams Vs. Winfred J. Williams in the 216th District Court.
Richard Mosty, the self professed king of fiduciary duty law, represented the nephew and niece. Steve Clack represented the uncle, who, I'm told, was a very good witness that the jury loved.

Cornerstone Preacher John Hagee Predicts Imminent End of World - Again (for about the hundredth time)
San Antonio Express

Pastor Hagee: Blood moons point to 'world-shaking event'

SAN ANTONIO — Megachurch pastor John Hagee is warning his San Antonio congregation and international following of a “world-shaking event that will happen between April 2014 and October 2015.”
And, no, he's not talking about Fiesta.
Hagee, founder of the Cornerstone Church, points to “four blood moons,” a rare astronomical event of four consecutive and complete lunar eclipses, known as a tetrad, which begins April 15. The San Antonio pastor asserts the dates of the eclipses signify a major event that will change history in a book released in October, a series of sermons and a TV special airing on Tuesday, the first night of the tetrad.

Another demon going home to Satan; Al Sharpton - Dealer, Rat; Miami Detective Busted for Drug Dealing (Big Surprise there)

Texas parole board refuses to stop execution
SA Express. HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — Mexican national Ramiro Hernandez-Llanas already had done some carpentry work at Glen Lich's ranch near Kerrville in the Texas Hill Country when he negotiated a deal with the former Baylor University history professor to live on the property in exchange for helping out with ranch renovations.

Ten days later, Lich was fatally clubbed with a metal bar outside his home and his wife was attacked by a man covered with blood and threatening her with a knife. Hernandez-Llanas was arrested, still sleeping in the bed where he had wrapped his arm around Lich's terrorized wife, but unaware the woman summoned police after managing to flee from his grasp and restraints without waking him.

Reverend Al Sharpton - Ex-Drug Dealer & Rat
http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/Al-Sharpton-918273
Smoking Gun - APRIL 9--In a desperate effort to explain away his work as a paid government informant, the Rev. Al Sharpton yesterday claimed that he first ran into the FBI’s arms after his life was threatened by gangsters, an incident that prompted him to then record 10 face-to-face encounters with one of those dangerous hoodlums. That story is a lie.
The reverend was “flipped” by FBI agents three months after he was filmed in March 1983 (during a bureau sting) talking cocaine with an undercover agent. ... Sharpton showed up at a Manhattan apartmentto meet again with the undercover agent, who was posing as a former South American druglord seeking to launder money through boxing promotions.

Instead, Sharpton was confronted by FBI agents who showed him the “cocaine” videotape. The panicked reverend agreed--on the spot--to cooperate with federal agents, according to sources familiar with the contents of Sharpton’s FBI informant file.

This thug is a regular guest at parties at the White House thrown by America's would be king and queen.

Feds Nab Miami Cop In Coke Ring
The FBI arrested a Miami-Dade police officer on Tuesday on charges of aiding a cocaine trafficking ring by protecting smugglers, revealing sensitive information, smuggling in weapons, and helping to devise murder schemes for drug rivals. Ralph Mata, 45, is a lieutenant in internal affairs who has been on the force since 1992. According to the federal complaint, Mata called himself “the Milk Man” and offered to have hit men dress up in police uniforms with badges so they could pull over drug rivals and shoot them. He also ensured that drug traffickers safely made their way during travels through New York, Miami, and the Dominican Republic. To top it all off, if Mata was ever pulled over for his suspicious activities, he “would show his Miami-Dade Police Department badge and explain that he was traveling with the narcotics-detecting canine for a training course,” according to the federal complaint.

CHICAGO HAS CONCEALED CARRY, LOWEST MURDER RATE IN 56 YEARS
Breitbart.com The first quarter of 2014 was a quarter of firsts for Chicago: it was the first time citizens with a concealed carry handgun permit (CCH) were able to carry handguns for self-defense and the first time since 1958 that the city's murder rate has been this low.

WICCAN POLICE OFFICER SUES L.A. FOR RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION

An LAPD sergeant who has been on the force for nearly 25 years is suing the city, claiming that he suffered religious discrimination for his religious beliefs, according to a news report by CBS News' L.A. affiliate.
Sgt. A.J. DeBellis alleges that the department held a mandatory training session and a holiday party at a Christian church. He claims that he lost his shift as watch commander in retaliation for his complaints.

Darwin Award Contestant; White Man Beaten by Black Mob in Detroit - Hate Crime? Serial Killer Tommy Lynn Sells Goes Home to Satan

Darwin Award Contestant: San Antonio Man loses fingers putting penny under moving train
SAN ANTONIO — A man in his 30s lost a few fingers Tuesday afternoon in an attempt to place a penny under a moving train north of downtown.

The man was walking along the tracks with a group of friends just before 1:30 p.m. near the 100 block of Hickman Street, said Deborah Foster, a spokeswoman for the San Antonio Fire Department. The group of friends decided to try the trick while the last few cars of the freight train were still passing, Foster said.

I can imagine some enterprising plaintiff's lawyer suing the railroad for not warning that sticking your hand under a moving train is unsafe, or for not putting up a fence to keep idiots out.

Detroit: Motorist who struck boy critical after mob attack
AP: A suburban Detroit man was in critical condition Thursday with severe head injuries after a neighborhood mob beat and kicked him when he stopped to check on a 10-year-old boy who stepped from a curb into the path of his pickup.
.......... The article doesn't report the race of the attackers. Let's see - were they whites, Mexicans, Chinese?

Later today, the local CBS affiliate had the courage to ask:
White Man Beaten By Mob In Detroit After Hitting Boy With Truck: Was It A Hate Crime?

DETROIT (WWJ) - As a 54-year-old Roseville man clings to life in the hospital following a brutal mob beating on Detroit’s east side, many are starting to wonder if the whole thing was racially motivated.
As first reported by WWJ Newsradio 950, an 11-year-old boy suffered a broken leg on Wednesday when he was hit by a pickup truck after walking into the street near Morang and Balfour. The driver, Steven Utash, immediately got out of his truck after hitting the boy and was viciously attacked by 10 to 12 men. The beating was so brutal, Utash was rendered unconscious.

To answer the question - of course it wasn't a hate crime! It's only a hate crime if the victim is black and the perps are white.

Serial killer who targeted S.A. child has died
HUNTSVILLE — Serial killer Tommy Lynn Sells — a drifter who has been linked to the deaths of more than a dozen people, including a 9-year-old San Antonio girl — was executed Thursday evening.
Texas Department of Criminal Justice officials pronounced him dead at 6:27 p.m., about 13 minutes after he was injected with a fatal dose of pentobarbital.
“It is our belief that how we choose to execute prisoners reflects on us as a society,” said a statement released by Sells' lawyers, Maurie Levin and Jonathan Ross, moments after the court's decision was released. “Without transparency about lethal injections, particularly the source and purity of the drugs to be used, it is impossible to ensure that executions are humane and constitutional.”
Oh boo hoo hoo - the needle stuck poor little Tommy Lynn.

If the angels in heaven rejoice when a saint comes home, what do the demons in hell do when one of their own comes home?

Alcoholic New York Court Reporter Botches Criminal Trials
An alcoholic Manhattan court stenographer went rogue, channeling his inner “Shining” during a high-profile criminal trial and repeatedly typing, “I hate my job, I hate my job” instead of the trial dialogue, sources told The Post.
The bizarre antics by Daniel Kochanski, who has since been fired, wreaked havoc on some 30 Manhattan court cases, sources said, and now officials are scrambling to repair the damage.
One high-level source said his “gibberish” typing may have jeopardized hard-won convictions by giving criminals the chance to claim crucial evidence is missing.
Kochanski’s botched transcripts include the 2010 mortgage-fraud trial of Aaron Hand, who was also convicted of trying to hire a hit man to take out a witness against him.
A source familiar with the case said Kochanski’s transcripts of that trial were a total mess.

Not too crazy to be a judge; San Antonio lawyer disbarred for bribing judge; Facebook foolishness

Chicago Judge wants back on bench after insanity ruling
For the first time in Illinois, attorneys on the case say, a judicial disciplinary panel has begun tackling the question of whether a judge whose psychotic episodes can apparently be controlled through medication should be allowed to return to the bench.

Judge Cynthia Brim, 55, testified before the Illinois Courts Commission for more than two hours on Friday in a bid to save her $182,000-a-year job. The seven-member panel – made up of judges from outside of Cook County as well as two citizens – will later issue a written decision.

Brim was found not guilty of misdemeanor battery by reason of insanity last year for shoving a sheriff’s deputy outside the Daley Center during a manic episode in March 2012. A day earlier, while on the bench, she broke into an extended rant while presiding over a traffic court call at the Markham courthouse.

Lawyer at center of court scandal can no longer practice
SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio attorney at the center of a federal investigation into suspected corruption at the Bexar County Courthouse has agreed to a suspension of his law license.

Alberto “Al” Acevedo Jr., 60, who pleaded guilty in mid-March to bribing state District Judge Angus McGinty, agreed to the interim suspension sought by the State Bar of Texas' disciplinary arm via a process known as “compulsory discipline.”

I have a Facebook account but I don't put pictures of my family on it and I never talk about when I'm going on vacation or out of town. I'm amazed at the details people post, with pictures of their children and grandchildren. Here's a good example of things that can go wrong:
Facebook 'Friend' Robs Home Of Vacationing Family: Cops
A woman on vacation in Las Vegas had her house burglarized by a trio that allegedly included one of her Facebook "friends."

Stacey Grant of Fontana, Calif., was so excited about her family's spring break trip to Sin City that she posted lots of social media updates about her whereabouts.

One of her Facebook friends apparently really "liked" those updates.

Investigators say Michael Batson, 21, used Grant' Facebook posts to case her home and, with the help of two other men, ransack it last Tuesday.

"It was hurtful," Grant told KNBC-TV. "My whole room was trashed, there were clothes everywhere. My bed was gone."

TEXAS MAN INDICTED FOR TRANSPORTING AND PROSTITUTING MINORS
31-year-old Anthony Nelson, better known as "Flip," of Tyler, Texas drove children across the state line so that they could engage in prostitution, according to an indictment obtained by Breitbart Texas. Nelson was already a convicted sex offender at the time.
On March 26 Nelson was indicted on sexual exploitation charges.
The indictment states that during November and December 2013, Nelson drove two minors across state lines with the intention of prostituting them. He was already a convicted sex offender, having been found guilty of Aggravated Assault of a Child in 2003.
