U.S. Marshal chief for sprawling Texas district resigns under pressure
Robert Almonte, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Texas, has resigned in the face of allegations that he misused his office.
Almonte, who has run the federal law enforcement agency for the San Antonio-based district that stretches to El Paso since 2010, opted to quit, the Justice Department said. The department refused to release any other details.In January, the Department of Justice announced it found Almonte used subordinates as his personal driver for non-government related business and violated other ethics regulations.

misconduct cases involving the now 72-year-old Sandusky who is serving a lengthy jail term on the charges of child molestation.

South Texas volunteer fire chief accused of sexually assaulting 12-year-old girl
A South Texas fire chief was arrested Saturday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl, according to media reports.
Felipe Garza Jr., 43, was charged with first-degree felony of aggravated sexual assault of a child and could face up to 99 years in prison, according to the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.

But it's okay because we're cousins, the judge said.
Arkansas Judge Resigns After 1000s of Photos of Nude Male Defendants Found on His Computer
An Arkansas judge accused of swapping sex for reduced sentences resigned Monday after a state commission said it discovered thousands of photographs from his computer that depicted nude male defendants.
In a letter to the Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission, Cross County District Judge Joseph Boeckmann said that his resignation was effective immediately, and that he would never again seek a job as a local, county or state employee.
"They all depict young men, many naked who are in various poses inside the judge's home and outside in his yard," the letter states, adding that many of the men had received checks from the judge and had appeared before him as defendants.
