Kerrville City Councilman Gary Stork and wife Peggy dead in apparent murder-suicide

Updated 9-26-16 9:30 a.m.

I did the Kerrville Triathlon (sprint version) Saturday then had to leave town for a quick trip to Houston. I got back Sunday night and checked emails and was shocked to learn that our fair city has another scandal. I checked the San Antonio Express and saw this headline:
Kerrville city councilman found dead Saturday in possible murder-suicide
Zeke MacCormack reports:
"Murder-suicide is suspected in the shooting deaths of a Kerrville couple that included a city councilman who authorities say was the subject of active criminal investigation.
Kerrville Police say Place 3 Councilman Gary Stork and his wife Peggy were found dead from gunshot wounds to the head inside their Tanglewood Lane home about 8:30 p.m., Saturday....
The police news release said Stork was a suspect in an indecency with a child case over a July 4, 2016, incident and that the case was slated to be presented to a grand jury on Tuesday."

I  thought Stork was one weird bird (pun intended) as a look at his picture shows:

He usually wore a big floppy Mexican bandito style hat.

The tragic part of this story is that he apparently shot his wife before taking his own life. On second thought, it's tragic that he lost his way so badly that he came to the point of killing himself and his wife. His Facebook home page shows a different side. If he liked dogs and was good to his dog he can't have been all bad.

  1. This is a very sad day for Kerrville. I feel especially sad for all those directly affected by this tragedy. I choose to postpone any further comments.
