Perry Don Cortese has appealed his conviction for wire fraud and money laundering that earned him a 25 year sentence in federal prison (for which there is no parole). A source involved in the case told me that Cortese has never shown any remorse. I also got some insight into how he got caught. The FBI was investigating a Toronto based fraud ring and busted one of the gang who was running money through a bank account. He flipped and cooperated. The FBI concocted a story that he was in jail for domestic battery.
Perry called the snitch, pretending to be discussing representing him, but really wanting account and routing numbers so he could run stolen money through the account. The feds recorded it all. The person I talked to said they had never heard of Cortese until that phone call!
